Important Note: Avoid using permanent markers, pens, or highlighters to mark your photos. Professional archivists recommend using a #2 pencil on the back of fiber-based prints (those with a paper-like feel). Use a softer 4B or 6B pencil for resin-coated, glossy photos, as #2 pencils don’t work well on these surfaces.
